Who we are

Yarber's Martial Arts & Self-Defense operates a boutique martial arts school at 3900 W. Northside Dr.. We use an internal system, Dojo Command, to run trials, enrollment, classes, attendance, curriculum progress and membership billing. Information we collect

• Contact and student details you submit on our trial or enrollment form: name, date of birth, phone, email, guardian details for minors, and an emergency contact.
• Program and package interest, how you heard about us, and any notes you provide.
• Waiver acceptance records: the waiver version, who signed, their relationship to the student and the time of acceptance.
• Whether you chose to opt in to text messages, along with the date, form and wording version of that opt-in.
• Operational records created once you train with us: attendance, curriculum progress, instructor notes, fundraiser participation and membership status.
• Payment records. Card payments are processed by Stripe; we store only membership and payment status information, never full card numbers.

How we use it

We use this information to schedule and run classes, respond to trial requests, track student progress, manage memberships and billing, meet our fundraiser and waiver recordkeeping, and send you the messages you asked for. We do not use it for automated decisions that affect your legal rights.

Text messages and consent

Text messaging is entirely optional. If you opt in, you may receive recurring informational and promotional messages about your trial and classes, reminders, attendance and follow-up, and membership or service updates. Message frequency varies and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to opt out, or HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of purchase.

Mobile phone information and SMS opt-in/consent data are not sold or shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes.

Who we share information with

We share information only with the service providers that operate this platform on our behalf — our hosting and database provider, our email delivery provider, our text message provider once configured, and Stripe for payments — and only so they can perform those services for us. We may also disclose information where required by law. We do not sell your information.

Retention and access

We keep student, membership and waiver records for as long as needed to run the school and keep our business records. Only authorized dojo staff can view them. To review, correct or request deletion of your information, email yarbersmartialarts@gmail.com. Some records may be retained where we need them for legal or accounting reasons.

Children

Enrollment for students under 18 must be completed by a parent or legal guardian, who provides the contact details and any consents on the student's behalf.

Changes

If we update this policy we will change the "last updated" date above and post the revised version on this page.
